Dear operators,
I chose to write to all of you, owners, managers and operators of facilities and hotel chains and restaurants to resume direct dialogue with those who live every day at first hand the difficulties of the sector at a time is not easy.
The waste crisis is largely behind us, our roads these days are clean. We support and trust in the work of local regulatory authorities, in particular of Commissioner De Gennaro, because the situation can be resolved definitively.
Thus, today more than ever, we have an exciting and challenging task: to retrieve the image of the city, and with it regain our market.
challenge I would like to address with all of you, one to the other side.
I understand your concern and your difficulties. My duty as a Councillor for Tourism of the city, however, compels me to continue to work today than yesterday. I do, believe me, with the clarity of one who sees all the way uphill we have to do, but also who is deeply convinced of the potential and great chanches ahead.
Today we have a duty to work primarily on the tourist season is upon us, even groped to regain confidence and optimism.
I take, therefore, the opportunity to present and share with you the next program in May of Monuments, which we are working for about a year. We have already presented and promoted to the International Tourism Exchange in Milan international journalists on the occasion of the ITB in Berlin in early March, and will also present at the next Mediterranean Tourism Exchange scheduled for 4 to 6 April 2008 at the Show overseas.
will illustrate, however, even before the program, the communication plan, already launched in recent days, actions, beliefs and hopefully effective, you summarize:
1) Promotion of ' event through the airport in the circuits on large posters advertising systems the LEDs in the main European airports (London, Paris, Milan, Rome) for the whole period of the event and from 1 April;
2) Promotion of the event in the Italian railway track through the personalization of the interior advertising and furnishings of the main Eurostar, with the spread of commercials in major railway terminal for the entire month of April;
3) Dissemination of advertising the event through some satellite TV.
4) Publishing and banner advertising on major internet search engines internet in the tourism sector and on the home pages of some of the most important national and international media-web throughout the month of April;
5) Printing and distribution of kits, promotional posters, invitations and leaflets covering the whole of the review of Monuments May 2008;
6) Advertisements and inserts the program in May of Monuments in the major Tourist inflight magazines of the major airlines;
7) Newsletter and text messages sent to the main tour operators and tourist attractions;
8) Dissemination of promotional event through the most listened to radio networks;
9) advertising branding of the Maritime Station of Naples at the cruise terminal;
10) press conference in Rome, Milan and Naples.
E 'clear the importance and tourist attraction at this particular moment for the city can and should exercise in May of Monuments, and in this way we tried to move.
I would, however, that the opportunity was also taken to give meaning and substance to the collaboration between private and public institutions. We have tried to do it, accepting many of your suggestions, by engaging in good time (for the first time a month in advance, but now since we are committed to do more and better for the next few years) a promotion campaign and appropriate programming.
Music, cinema, theater, literature, every Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the month of May, the history of castles, churches, atria and historic courtyards, allowing everyone to enjoy leisure time and simultaneously understand and appreciate our heritage, even at night. The complete program of events is already online at the City of Naples www.comune.napoli.it, and therefore can be viewed at any time for further information and clarification (from next week will be also in English).
I hope that this work will be useful for you all, especially as a means of reception for your guests (up to April 29 you will receive a number.'s Reasonable that you can distribute copies of the entire program, please report any missing deliveries) to which you can offer, together a city rich in history and beauty, cultural and entertainment choices to the challenge that lies ahead.
